Llandogo to Monmouth

Making use of "mum's taxis" for this one - aka getting a lift to Llandogo and walking back.

For some reason most of the photos I took are of bridges.  Probably because that's about all there is on this stretch to bother taking pics of!

Nah, it's not that boring really - another section I'm relatively familiar with due to Scouting activities as a teenager.

From my previous end point above Llandogo, I continued on through Cuckoo Woods, with the occasional sneaky glimpse down to Bigsweir Bridge (currently being repaired).  The path then drops down to meet the river in Whitebrook, and continues along the old railway line before emerging next to the Boat Inn in Redbrook.   Crossed over the old railway bridge, and had my lunch sitting in the village green watching some kayakers.

From Redbrook the path follows the river through some fields.  A few sheep and dog walkers around here.  I detoured slightly to walk over the other old railway bridge so I could take a few photos - also to get a better view of the confluence of the Monnow and Wye.

From here, it was just a case of walking around the edge of the Boys school playing fields, over the bridge and up to the rowing club - where I caved in and phoned for mum's taxi service again, as my achy feet couldn't face the thought of walking another mile on tarmac!
